Moving Ahead 2010 will bring together industry leaders, policymakers and researchers to analyze how advanced transportation technologies, fuels and strategies will impact job creation, environmental protection and national security. The event is co-hosted by Clean Fuels Ohio, a statewide nonprofit organization and designated U.S. Department of Energy Clean Cities Coalition.

Transportation accounts for more than 30% of America’s energy demand and more than 60% of the oil we use. Moving Ahead 2010 aims to identify and advance federal, state and local policies that will decrease our dependence on petroleum and promote economic development. Key questions will include:

  • Who will lead clean transportation technology in the future: the U.S., Europe or Asia?

  • Can new alternative energy vehicles save the U.S. auto and truck industries?

  • How can sustainability and profitability mesh in the future of transportation?

  • Hydrogen, electricity, natural gas, biofuels: What will be the right mix of fuels of the future and how will they affect the environment and the consumer’s pocketbook?

  •

Discussions will focus on the full range of transportation technologies, including automobile, truck, rail, aviation and transit systems, as well as other strategies that can move the U.S. ahead to a better transportation future.

In addition to keynote addresses and concurrent sessions, Moving Ahead 2010 attendees will:

  • Test the latest green fleet, truck and heavy-duty vehicles at an Advanced Technology Vehicle Ride-and-Drive

  • See the latest ready-to-market passenger vehicles at the Advanced Technology Automobile Showcase

  • Explore the most advanced technologies at the Transportation Technology Business Expo

  •

The complete agenda of activities can be viewed at MovingAhead2010.com.
